Cynthia Hassett joined HopeHealth in October 2014 as vice president of philanthropy and community services. In this capacity, Ms. Hassett has responsibility for leading and growing philanthropic support from the community and enhancing our community services including Hope Dementia & Alzheimer’s Services, Hope Community Care, Hope Care for Kids and Pediatric Palliative Care.
Prior to joining HopeHealth, Ms. Hassett spent 13 years in hospice, home health and palliative care with Hospice by the Sea (HBTS) in Boca Raton, Florida. She was the corporate project manager and director of grant programs. She managed the combination of HBTS with Spectrum Health to form a new continuum of care enterprise rebranded as TrustBridge, Inc. Some of her other corporate projects included creating a specialized hospice program for terminally ill Hispanics and a comprehensive caregiver support program integrating education, information, self-care complementary therapies and ongoing support. She worked with the HBTS Board to establish a separate philanthropic foundation to support charity care, caregiver initiatives, children’s bereavement and the Hispanic hospice program.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Hassett established two regional health care coalitions, Rome Business Group on Health and Athens Area Health Partners assuming the position of executive director for the coalitions. She worked for the Health Insurance Association of America as a state level lobbyist representing the interests of the commercial health insurance in legislature and regulatory matters. Ms. Hassett began her career in health care administration at NYU Downtown Hospital, a 350-bed tertiary care teaching hospital in New York City.
Ms. Hassett has a master of public administration in health care administration from New York University and a bachelor of science in cardio-respiratory sciences from State University of New York.
